I couldn't think of a better day to start this blog than on my wedding anniversary. Ken and I have been married for 5 years now! It seems like yesterday we were standing in our yard, surrounded by family and friends, exchanging our vows. It was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Since we held the wedding at the house, we were able to keep the guys entertained by having the Charger's game on in the living room. We have been thru so much in these short years. Chronic illness(me), job loss(Ken), family relocating out of state(Ken), death(my grandmother), births(a niece and a nephew).
We met at Journey Community Church about 6 or 7 years ago - we were both serving in the usher's ministry. We both enjoyed hockey - rival teams of course! After we got engaged, several leaders approached us separately and expressed concern that we were rushing into things. (We were engaged in July and planning a September wedding.) Now, five years later do I have any regrets? Just one - that I didn't video tape the wedding. If I had, then there would be proof that Rod (the pastor who married us) mentioned God and hockey in the same sentence! Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing - though times and all! Ken has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. (next to finding God) Happy Anniversary
